Seventeen years ago I helped Michael produce a record called Iron Horse. During the intervening seasons of life, Michael continued to make songs. His lyrics reflect the full range of his experiences throughout those years. When he was ready to go back into the studio, I was honored to be invited to assist once again. As I got to know the songs more deeply I felt a growing desire to help introduce them to potential listeners. These conversations explore the conception and gestation of Michael's music, especially the new album, My Father's Face.
